Crisis Accommodation is a large scale installation that reflects on the contemporary housing crisis through material and form. Constructed from recycled timber panels assembled into abstract forms that map the sites of abandoned houses across metropolitan Melbourne. The project emerged from an ongoing photographic series documenting these derelict homes and their gradual decay, evoking the quiet erosion of ancient sites over time. The images (see below) were cut, and collaged into abstract compositions, which became the basis for the final work.
